My Process
I could show you pretty pictures all day (I take a lot of them) but what really matters is how I go about capturing them in the first place. In my opinion, the a photographer works with you is just as important as the images themselves. Down below you’ll find drop downs for each part of the wedding process that details how I go about documenting your big day every step of the way.
-
I am a documentary style photographer, which means I am at my best when you are just enjoying yourself. Think of it as if your shadow had a camera and was making sure every moment was captured in its best light. I do everything I can to ensure you get the most time with your friends and family so you can focus on making memories and I can focus on capturing them. Most commonly referred to as “candid” my style focuses on the moments as they happen while preserving your ability to be a part of them. Although there are plenty of times where I take control and give direction, I think the most important thing is that you are able to be present instead of treating the whole day like a photoshoot.
As far as editing is concerned, my style is very true to color. This means my style adapts with yours and will showcase exactly what your decor, bridal look and venue are supposed to look. Whether its light and airy spring pastels or a dark and moody winter wedding, I will ensure your wedding day looks exactly as you always dreamed.

This is the part where we get to know each other. Your consultation is a chance for me to learn about what you like and what you are looking for in a photographer. After all, wedding photography isn’t one size fits all and I want you to be 100% confident that I am the right fit for your big day. If you are ready to get started with your own consultation, head on over to my contact page and I’ll get you on the schedule as soon as possible.
-
Now that you are confident that I’m the right fit, it’s time to claim your day on my schedule. From the link below you’ll be able yo select your coverage type which will take you to my booking website. From there you’ll be able to fill in your information, review and sign my contract and submit your deposit. The deposit is a total o$500 and secures your date on my schedule. The remaining balance of your wedding package (including any add-ons) will be due one week before your wedding day. I also have monthly payment options if you prefer.
-
Your engagement session is one of the best opportunities to connect with me as a photographer and see how I work in person. We will work together to pick the best location that fits your style for an hour long session at sunset. During this session you’ll get a feel for my prompt and posing methods that help to create images that feel genuine and natural. Once your session is complete you’ll have your full gallery back within two weeks so you can share them with the world as quickly as possible.
-
Planning a wedding day is no small feat but I am here to help you every step of the way. From vendor recommendations to timeline assistance to general planning, my goal is to make your wedding experience as easy as possible. This is also the best time to share inspo photos, Pinterest boards, shot list or any other ideas you have for your day.
-
Now that the wedding day is finally here, it’s time to put all that planning into action. While I am your photographer, I am still there to help you every step of the way. I consider myself a lifeline for my couples because weddings can be super overwhelming and I will do anything to ensure your day runs smoothly. If you ever need a reason to get away or escape the craziness, I’m more than happy to take you away for some pictures and find a good quiet spot for you to relax a bit. Past that, I also bring my bridal borrow bag that has everything from zip ties to windex to help solve any emergency that may come your way.
-
I typically start my day capturing the details. From the dress to the decor, I wanna make sure everything gets captured in the best way possible. This gives me the chance to work with everything in the venue before guest are even in the building. It also ensures everything is in the best condition and exactly how you imagined it.
Hot tip: if you gather all your bridal accessories together in one place when I arrive, it will ensure everything makes it into the flat lay without the hassle of trying to find it all last minute.
-
The preparation is often most stressful time of day and I want to ensure I’m not making it any harder. To me, this is where documentary/candid can be so valuable. Not only will I be catching all the laughter and happy tears as they happen but I will be doing so without interrupting so you can actually enjoy your time with your guest. When we’re all ready I use a variety of prompts like “dress shopping” or the “compliment game” to inspire some natural interactions and smiles for some photos that show off your complete wedding look.
-
The ceremony is the biggest moment of your day and the real reason you’ll want a professional there to capture every little thing. I focus on getting a variety of angles and different viewpoints during the ceremony so nothing gets missed. This is also one of the biggest emotional moments during your day which is my favorite thing to capture as a documentary style photographer. From the groom tearing up to mom reaching for her handkerchief, I want to freeze every moment so it can live on forever.
-
Now that the big moment has come and gone it’s time for family portraits! I typically tackle these in two different ways dependent on what your preference is as a couple.
Option one: This is for my planning/type a people. For this option I’ll have you write or type a list of each group you want to have photographed together. I also ask that you designate a person to be “the reader” which is usually a mom or maid of honor. Since this person knows the people they will usually listen a bit better so we can get people where they need to be. Once they’re gathered I will organize them and get that perfect photo that they’ll hold on to for years to come.
Option two: This is for my “go with the flow”/type b people. For this option we gather all the people for family photos and set you up front and center. Once we’re all there you call out who you want for each group and I organize as we go. This can be useful because sometimes people get left off a list and it can be easier to work with what we have in front of us. No matter which option works best for you, I do my best to be quick so we can get you and your guest back to the wedding as soon as possible.
-
This is my time to shine as a photographer and one of the few times I take full control to curate a portrait session to best show off the newlyweds. I always work in the time for us to step away for at least 20 minutes and no longer than 40 at sunset so we can have a full photo session in the best possible lighting without your guest wondering where you went. I utilize my prompts and poses as well as any inspo photos to create the perfect images that you will look back on forever
-
This is my favorite time of day because my candid style allows me to have a front row seat to some of the most memorable moments of your entire day. I get to see all of the excitement, smiles, laughter and happy tears and capture it forever. From your first dance to final send off, I ensure every moment makes it in your final gallery so you can always come right back to your big day any time you want to walk down memory lane.
-
After your final send off it’s time for me to get to work but I want to make sure you get sample images while you wait. 24-72 hours after your wedding day you’ll receive your sneak peeks so you can get an idea of what your final gallery will look like. This is a great opportunity for you to let me know how you like the color and look of these images so I can ensure your full gallery is curated just for you.
-
This is the hard part… waiting. Luckily my turnaround time is one of the fastest in the industry with your full gallery being delivered within 30 days. Once your final gallery is delivered you can actually share it with friends and family. You and anyone you choose to share it with will have unlimited downloads of all the full resolution copies in full color or black and white. You’ll also have a full print release so you can have the images printed wherever you want!
